yeah, i agree, you can get great results that way. i had a lot of success losing about 1 pound a week (when i was already in my upper 130s and staying away from muffins and cupcakes) running about 30-35 miles a week. but don’t neglect the resistance training if you’re trying to join the navy. running will make you skinny, but weightlifting will make you buff! i found rock climbing a lot more effective than simple weightlifting/ordinary resistance training and a LOT more interesting, but it’s also usually more expensive than the regular bare-bones gym membership.
