just home from my visit to zahav. the small salads above were just the start of a long and beautiful meal - the freshest hummus ever, fried cauliflower and labne, fried veal and hazelnut meatballs over creamed corn, lamb and beef balls over bell pepper, and labne ice cream over a dark chocolate brownie. i freaking love labne. i’m so glad i thought to reserve a spot there weeks and weeks in advance of restaurant week.
i kind of, like, didn’t train much for the half-marathon i ran yesterday. it totally dropped out of my consciousness (other than a faint anxiety over having to run it at some far-off date on insufficient training.) but! i woke up at 6:15am, walked on over to the race start, and actually finished, which was a pleasant surprise, and then at a pace i was also pleasantly surprised by, since i didn’t even think i’d run (read: jog) faster than a twelve minute mile pace.
today, only my surgery-knee and bottoms of my feet hurt. i walked two miles home from dinner. yay.
